"...a pavilion on the water."

The Boat House,Barn and Dock at Harvey's Lake, Pennsylvania,is,in reality,a pavilion on the water. Its design reflects a quiet retreat that bridges land and water, the house and the lake.

From the road, the boathouse reveals a traditional gabled personality, cementing a relationship with the basic design of the house. But as you come to view the boathouse from the water, its personality transforms--opening from steep to shallow gable, and taking on the sense of an inverted boat - quite literally a "boat house.".

Multiple exposed details and movable wall panels complete this liquid transition.
